I Go to Hugo

In my never ending quest in search of the perfect static site generator, I think I’ve finally found the perfect one: Hugo. Hugo is a static site generator written in the Go programming language, and since it’s release it’s gained a staggering 231% increase in usage over the last year. The massive increase of popularity over the last year really grabbed my attention, so I decided to try it.

How to use an emoji as a domain name

Today I found out that it is possible to create a domain using emoji. Since emoji is simply text, it is possible to convert the Unicode into ASCII using something called punycode. It’s extremely impractical to use on a desktop machine, but on mobile it is an interesting trick and a good way to get a decent domain when all of the nice ones are taken. :) Before you get too excited about this, it is only possible to use emojis on a handful of different TLDs.
